Rockstar Sued Over San Andreas Rating

It was only a matter of time. A grandmother who purchased San Andreas for her 14 year-old grandson is suing Rockstar Games for the wrongful game rating on the game package. She is claiming the publisher "engaged in false, misleading and deceptive practices." As you may know, Rockstar games was ordered by the ESRB to change the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas game rating from "Mature to "Adults Only" because of a hidden sex scene in the game. Hey lady, why did you buy this "Mature" game for a 14 year-old kid anyway?

GTA: San Andreas Rating Changed to "Adults Only"

The ESRB has investigated the code for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and have determined that the "Hot Coffee" mod allows gamers access to sexually explicit material. The game was originally given a "M" for Mature Rating; that will now be changed to "AO" or Adults Only by the ESRB's request. Rockstar Games has suspended manufacturing for the game as they must now change the game rating. The company is sending "AO" stickers to retailers for copies currently in stores.

Nintendo has confirmed that their upcoming Metroid Prime: Hunters game for the Nintendo DS will not have an online play mode. Nintendo stated they are still working on the infrastructure for their free online service and they would have to delay Metroid Prime: Hunters if they wanted it to be online playable. Obviously Nintendo does not want to delay the game.

Sony has removed the router functionality from the PS3. The Playstation 3 was suppose to be a wireless hub to control other electronics in your home, but Sony has scraped that idea. Maybe Playstation 4 will contain this feature.

Nintendo DS Games Developed By Rare?

Rumors are flying that Rare (Microsoft's now coveted game publisher) will return to Nintendo's camp to produce Nintendo DS games. Rumored games to appear on the DS include Banjo Kazooie, Donkey Kong 64, GoldenEye, Banjo Pilot, and Sabrewulf. Rare was once a Nintendo second-party publisher for Nintendo's earlier consoles, but was eventually purchased by Microsoft. Rare will continue to develop games for Microsoft's home consoles.
