2006 Delay For HD-DVD

Toshiba's advantage of first release over Sony's Blu-Ray format is in jeopardy. Toshiba has announced that their 30 GB dual layer HD-DVD format will be delayed until 2006 - the same time Playstation 3 is scheduled to be released. Toshiba should just give it up and let Blu-Ray be the future HD disc format.

In other Sony format news, the company has announced that 17 million UMDs have been sold so far since the release of the PSP. Sony has sold 8.2 million movies and 9 million PSP games. Sony estimates by the end of 2008, 130 million UMDs will be sold.
